A new spirit of cooperation between Rainbow gatherers and Forest Service
A town meeting is scheduled for Thursday, June 19th, at the Sublette County Library in Pinedale, WY at 6:00 PM. Rainbow gatherers have invited Federal and State representatives and members of the community to talk about this year’s annual Rainbow Gathering. All interested parties are encouraged and invited to attend.
This meeting is significant because it represents hope that the ongoing 37 year conflict between Rainbow Gathering participants and Forest Service will be peacefully resolved in a manner that recognizes the uniqueness of Rainbow Gatherings.
The Undersecretary of Agriculture Mark Rey will be in attendance along with members of the U.S. Forest Service Incident Management Team. Representatives from the Wyoming Governor’s office and the Attorney General’s office are expected to attend.
The purpose of the meeting is to allow members of the community to have an opportunity to ask questions of the Rainbow participants about the annual gathering which will be held near Pinedale, WY in early July.
